The Canadian towns of Hamilton and Grimsby, Ontario, are just a few miles west of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and very close to the border of the United States.
The small group of Shaws who settled in these towns appear to be Loyalist Shaws who were granted lands in and around Grimsby during the settlement of Ontario, between 1780 and 1800.
